"It has come to our attention that many Sugarpaste products under the brand name Crystal Colors still bear a cRc symbol, and that the cRc symbol is illegally being displayed on its website. This company has been terminated by the cRc in 2022, and any product manufactured after 2022 is not certified Kosher. Corrective action is being taken."

Roland Foods, LLC Recalls Roland® Tahini (100% Ground Sesame Seeds) 16 Oz. Because of Possible Health Risk

Roland Foods, LLC (“Roland Foods”) of New York, New York is recalling a specific production code of Roland® Tahini (100% Ground Sesame Seeds) 16 oz. because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Roland® Tahini (100% Ground Sesame Seeds) 16 oz. was distributed to many states through retail stores and foodservice outlets. The product was distributed by Roland Foods from September 2023 through January 2024.

This recall ONLY APPLIES to Roland® Tahini (100% Ground Sesame Seeds) 16 oz., Batch Number P024581, Production Code X0419, UPC Number 10041224701509, with a Best By Date of October 19, 2024. The product can be identified by the UPC, found under the barcode on the back of the product, or by the Production Code and Best Buy Date printed in black ink on the label near the top of the bottle.

Consumers who have purchased Roland® Tahini (100% Ground Sesame Seeds) 16 oz. are urged to discard any affected product. Consumers with questions may contact the company’s Recall Hotline at 800-622-1823. The Recall Hotline will be monitored from 9:00 a.m. EST – 5:00 p.m. EST.

Diced tomatoes recalled in two states and Japan over plastic in product

January 11, 2024 from Food Safety News.

"Ingomar Packing Co of Los Banos, CA, is recalling diced tomatoes because of foreign objects in the product, specifically plastic.

"According to the details posted by the FDA, the recall was initiated on Aug. 3, 2023, and is ongoing.

"The recalled products were distributed in the U.S. in California and Washington and distributed internationally to Japan.

Eban’s Bakehouse Issues a Voluntary Recall Due to Undeclared Milk and Soy Allergens

December 16, 2023 from the FDA:

Eban’s Bakehouse is recalling all of its Sweet Indulgences cookie bites, packaged in 12-count, 11.85 oz boxes, due to undeclared milk and soy allergens. The recall is limited to the 12-count multi-pack cookie bites. The traditional 2 oz cookies are not included in the recall.

This recall has been initiated due to the ingredient label not stating milk and soy as allergens.

Food Allergy Alert: Global Veg Corp Issues Alert on Undeclared Sulfites in Sundried Tomato Halves

December 8, 2023 from the FDA:

Global Veg Corp, 20 W, 55th st - 7th fl. New York, NY 10019 is recalling all lots and codes of its 5 lbs packages of “AVIATOR brand Sundried Tomato Halves”, Lot#060923/1, because they may contain undeclared sulfites. People who have a severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume this product.

The recalled “Aviator Sundried Tomato Halves” was distributed nationwide. The product comes in a 5 lb. vacuum bags. No illnesses or adverse reactions involving this product have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed that the sulfite containing product was distributed in packages that did not reveal the presence of sulfites.

Consumers who have purchased 5LB Bags of “AVIATOR brand Sundried Tomato Halves”, Lot#060923/1, are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 201-367-0517.

TGD Cuts, LLC Recalls Certain Fresh-Cut Fruit Cup, Clamshell and Tray Products Due to Possible Health Risk

December 5, 2023 from the FDA:

TGD Cuts, LLC has initiated a voluntary recall of the specific fresh-cut fruit cup, clamshell and tray products listed below because they contain cantaloupe from TruFresh which has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Due to the expanded recall of fresh, whole cantaloupes by TruFresh, on November 28, 2023, TGD Cuts, LLC is issuing this recall. Cantaloupes recalled by TruFresh were used as a raw material in TGD Cuts, LLC fruit cup, clamshell and tray products listed below.

This recall includes fresh-cut fruit cup, clamshell and tray products containing cantaloupe listed in the table below with use-by dates of November 2, 2023, through November 24, 2023. Products were distributed to retail and food service locations in Maryland, D.C., Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and South Carolina. No other products are affected.

Consumers, restaurants, retailers, and wholesalers should not eat, sell, or serve recalled cantaloupe or recalled products containing cantaloupe.

Some consumers freeze cantaloupe for later use. Consumers should check their freezers and throw away recalled fresh or cut cantaloupe that was frozen for later use.

If you are not sure if your cantaloupe is part of the recall, do not eat or use it and throw it away.
